A radical change in education is needed for the smart generation: Mustafa Jabbar

The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar, has stressed the importance of radical changes in education and the positive role of teachers to develop the new generation as smart human resources. He expressed this opinion in an open discussion organized with the participants of the 193rd basic training of the academy at the National Education Management Academy auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday.

While speaking as the chief guest, the minister said that our students are very talented. They are capable of containing any complexity. New generation is our biggest strength in building Smart Bangladesh. The role of education system and teachers is immense in developing this power and creating human resources suitable for the fifth industrial revolution. Education needs radical change.

And mentioning that the government has taken initiative to meet this need, Mustafa Jabbar said, already under the initiative of the post and telecommunication department of the country, we have started the journey of digital transformation of education by teaching digital content in 650 primary schools and 28 neighborhood centers in the hilly areas with the financing of the SOF fund. Another thousand schools are undergoing digital transformation of education.

The Minister of Telecommunication expressed the experience of giving lessons in digital mode in primary schools and neighborhood centers in remote and underprivileged areas of the country and said that many students from nearby schools are coming to these schools taking TC. There is a demand to provide digital content in schools which have computers. He said, if our students are given facilities, then they can surpass any standard in the world.

National Academy for Education Management-NAEM Director Prof. Shah Md. Amir Ali presided over the meeting while the NAEM Director General Prof. Dr. Nizamul Karim delivered his speech. The Director General highlighted the contribution of Mr. Mustafa Jabbar in computer integration in printing industry, introduction of Bengali language in digital technology and digital transformation of education.
